Bet the Farm Traminette 2015: $17 Good

The Bet the Farm Traminette (Finger Lakes, NY) 2015 $17 [Good] has some solid Traminette flavor, but bitter notes limit its appeal.  The bitter flavors increase after a day in the fridge, so drink this wine at one sitting.

Medium lemon in color, the aromas are light and sappy, and include scents of lychee, bubblegum, pear, apple, spice and bitter notes.  Medium bodied, off dry to medium dry, with a hint of tannin, balance is OK.  Sappy medium intense flavors of canned peaches, pears, and peppery spice are inflected with metallic and bitter green notes.  The wine finishes with a light peppery burn, average in length.  A metallic note lingers.  July 2016
