The Heron Hill “Reserve” Pinot Blanc (Morris Vineyard, Finger Lakes, NY) 2015 $20 [Good+] is more polite than the 2014, without that wine’s depth of flavor. Still, this wine is well balanced, easy-drinking and quaffable, with attractive flavors.
Pale green-ish lemon in color, the HH shows light aromas of waxy apple, white peach and melon with some stony/mineral accents. Medium bodied, dry, with good acidity, balance is good. The flavors consist of moderately intense sappy white peach and waxy apple fruit, underlined by a saline streak and accented by stones and bitter herbs. The finish turns more saline and mineral, with average length. July 2016
