Billsboro Pinot Gris 2015: $14 Good

The Billsboro Pinot Gris (Sawmill Creek Vineyards, Finger Lakes, NY) 2015 $14 [Good] is a well-balanced quaffer, with simple modestly intense flavors and a short finish.

Pale lemon in color, the aromas are diffuse, with suggestions of ripe pineapple, apple, pepper, and a very slight oily/buttery note.  Medium bodied, round, with a soft mouth feel, there is peppery acidity for balance, which is good.  Flavors of ripe apple, pineapple, white pepper, and a mineral note  have modest intensity and a generic character.  The finish is balanced, uneventuful, and short.  April 2016
